Dr. James Crawford returned home to Boise, after serving 24 years in the U.S. Army. He established the Idaho Ear Clinic in 2018. Dr. Crawford is a graduate of Capital High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University. Then went on to get his Doctor of Medicine from the Uniformed Services University. After a residency in Otolaryngology at Madigan Army Medical Center, he completed a fellowship in Otology/Neurotology at the House Ear Clinic in Los Angeles. He is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University and was the Otolaryngology Residency Program Director at Madigan Army Medical Center. Dr. Crawford is on the Editorial Board for multiple medical journals.
Dr. Crawford established the pediatric and adult cochlear implant program at Madigan Army Medical Center. He has extensive clinical, surgical and research experience in cochlear implants, hearing conservation, chronic ear disease, superior semi-circular canal dehiscence and mild TBI. He has lectured nationally and internationally.
Dr. Crawford is excited to be back home and bring the skills he has developed to the Treasure Valley. His wife, Marisa, and their 4 children enjoy travel and the outdoors – skiing, waterskiing, fishing, hiking, tennis and golf.
Dr. Eric Wilkinson is originally from Tempe, Arizona and received his undergraduate degree from Arizona State University. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from Stanford University School of Medicine. His Otolaryngology residency was completed at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and he completed his fellowship in Otology/Neurotology at the House Ear Clinic in Los Angeles. Dr. Wilkinson joined the staff of the House Ear Clinic following his fellowship training in 2008 and practiced there until joining the Idaho Ear Clinic in 2020.
Dr. Wilkinson’s practice encompasses Adult and Pediatric Otolaryngology and Otology-Neurotology. He is an expert in ear surgery, particularly endoscopic ear surgery and auditory implants including Cochlear Implants (CI) and Bone conduction implants. He performs minimally invasive surgery on the ear and surrounding structures. He also practices functional nasal surgery including septorhinoplasty and surgery to improve the nasal airway as well as the form and function of the nose.
Dr. Ilya Leyngold is an internationally renowned Johns Hopkins trained surgeon who specializes in aesthetic and reconstructive procedures of the eyelids, orbit, and face. He is board certified in ophthalmology and a member of American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) and North American Society of Academic Orbital Surgeons (NASAOS), organizations for highly trained and accomplished oculofacial plastic surgeons.
Having performed over 15,000 cosmetic and reconstructive eyelid and facial procedures he offers the highest level of care to his patients. Dr. Leyngold has been invited to teach his surgical techniques to other physicians at Harvard, Yale, Duke, and Case Western Reserve among many other leading medical institutions throughout the country and the world. He also presented his work in Europe, Asia, and South America.
After receiving his medical degree at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine he pursued residency training at The Wilmer Eye Institute of The Johns Hopkins Hospital. During residency he was captivated by the art of plastic surgery around the eye and face by working with some of the leading experts in the field. As a result, he pursued a 2-year ASOPRS accredited oculofacial plastic surgery fellowship training in Salt Lake City, Utah with Dr.Richard L. Anderson, who is considered to be one of the fathers of oculoplastic surgery.
After completing his fellowship training Dr.Leyngold joined clinical faculty at The University of South Florida (USF) Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa, FL, where he served as the chief of Oculofacial Plastic Surgery Service performing thousands of eyelid and facial cosmetic surgery procedures. After working close to 5 years at USF, Dr.Leyngold was recruited to Duke University Hospital where he served as an associate professor in the division of Oculofacial and Aesthetic Facial Surgery. He had the privilege of working at Duke for almost 6 years prior to opening his own private practice in Treasure Valley with his twin brother, Dr.Mark Leyngold, an accomplished plastic surgeon.
At both institutions he had the honor of teaching surgery to other surgeons, fellows, residents, and medical students who greatly enriched his career. Many of his trainees went on to become very accomplished and leading specialists in both academic and private practice settings throughout the country.
Dr. Mark Leyngold is a nationally renowned board certified plastic surgeon. He completed a prestigious 6 year Integrated Plastic Surgery Residency in Las Vegas, NV where he served as a chief resident. To advance his training he went on to complete additional 2 years of fellowship training in both aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. Over the years Dr. Leyngold developed a wide range of clinical expertise including but not limited to aesthetic surgery, breast reconstruction, microsurgery and facial plastic surgery. Dr. Leyngold served as an Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Florida Health Shands Hospital where he spent nearly a decade before transitioning to private practice. Having performed thousands of both aesthetic and reconstructive procedures all over the body and face he brings a unique set of expertise to the valley to diligently serve Idaho community.
Dr. Jonathan Kramer attended Vanderbilt University for his Undergraduate and Masters Degree majoring in Molecular Biology. He earned his Medical Degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia followed by completion of a five year residency in general surgery at the Phoenix Integrated Surgical Residency Program where he was awarded the “Outstanding Surgical Intern” in his class. He went on to complete a two year plastic surgery fellowship at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. After practicing several years in Phoenix, AZ, he subsequently relocated his practice to the Boise area. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the prestigious American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He currently serves as Chair of the Department of Plastic Surgery for the St. Lukes Health System and is a Board Member and Medical Director of the Surgical First Assist Program at the College of Western Idaho.
